Another Hike

On Saturday I went hiking to a mountain lake. Holy cow, was it a hard hike! It was, like, 2 miles of uphill climbing. My legs aren't very cooperative this morning! The lake was more like a pond, but still very pretty. We had lunch here. PB&J!
On the way back we stopped and played at a creek. The water was cold and so refreshing to drink! It was a beautiful day out. Perfect temperature and a nice breeze.
There was a little cabin just off the trail. I'm pretty sure it was no bigger than 8 x 10 if even that. I can't imagine living in something that small! Right above me right arm you can see part of the roof. An adult wouldn't even be able to stand up in it! I hope a family didn't have to live in the cabin. I can't imagine it being very tolerable for even one person.
Before we headed home we stopped for ice cream. Best ice cream ever! I had mint chocolate chip. They didn't have any peanut butter & chocolate which is, of course, my favorite. I love getting the chance to see Montana. I swear there isn't an ugly place in this state.

  1. OOoohhh what a beautiful place to visit .. you are lucky to live close to things like that to explore .. I am just starting to learn about my new area ..

    Take care,

  2. Wow, sounds like fun! What a beautiful place!

Maybe the cabin was just where a hunter or trapper would stay overnight, or something, rather than a permanent home.

Hiking is so fun! We haven't been in awhile, but yesterday we walked along the harbour in a pretty small town about half an hour from the city. It was cool, but we want to go on a real hike soon too!

  3. Sounds so much fun! I wish I was there! LOL! I am Kit, Emma's Doll! Her favorite type of Ice Cream is Mint chocolate chip!:) Mine is cookie dough!

  4. Salut, Emily!
What a breathtaking place! That cabin is very intriguing.
I'm glad you had a fun hike. Your swimsuit is very cute, by the way.

  5. Green Girls, we were thinking the cabin might have been for a logger. It totally did not look like something that would protect anyone from a Montana winter. I hope you get to go hiking soon!

    Thanks everyone for your comments!

  6. Yeah, a logger makes sense.

Blakeney says we can go hiking this weekend if the weather is decent! :-)

  7. Oh, I love hiking! I love getting out in the wilderness and seeing what's around the next bend in the trail. The best part is finding a creek, river, or lake to sit by and have lunch. I love your pictures, Emily! I really need to grab Bodhi and Megan and take them on a hike very soon.
