My New Room

Well, technically it's my old room, but I now share it with Kit thanks to some random changes around the house. So, it is new in the sense that it is rearranged and there is different stuff in it.

My side is on the left (like you hadn't guessed from the posters). Of course, that means Kit's side is on the right. In care you are really interested, my posters are: "I Want to Believe" from The X-Files and the other is from Fringe. Kit's are: Draco Malfoy and one of Arthur from Merlin. That's Coco in her basket.
And here is our desk and locker, which we use more for sticking posters on than storage.
A close-up of all our "interests". Yup, that's our life documented with posters.

I'd Like to Introduce...

... Jess' little sister! Yup, you read that right. I would have mentioned her a lot sooner (like when I started my blog), but she was very sick for a long time and Jess didn't want me posting her picture or talking about her. But now she is all better and I was given permission to post her picture. So, without further ado, let me introduce everyone to Ella Hanako Sullivan!
Ella is seven-years-old and best friends with my sis, Gillian, who is the same age. She likes pink, The Lion King, Ni Hao Kai-Lan (a TV show), and panda bears. When she was sick she lived mostly at her maternal grandparent's house. Jess is so glad to have her little sister home again. Of course, Jess is really, really cheesed at me, so I'm just kind of guessing that she is glad to have Ella home. I actually had to get the picture from her dad because Jess wouldn't talk to me. Mother and Casey dating really, really ticks her off. She is so over-dramatic. Got to (try) to love her for that.

Now, I would like to take a moment and shamelessly promote my other blog, "The Haunted Dollhouse" (link is on the right). My friend Frankie and I are having our first contest. All the details are on the other blog, but the quick rundown is that is a photo contest for you to dress as your favorite paranormal creature. If you have the time, come support our blog! *End of shameless promoting*

Mackenzie Scarlatti

Alright, I'd like to talk a bit about my cousin Mac Scarlatti. She is the same age as I am (12). She was born in North Dakota and lived in New York City for several years. She has three brothers: two older and one younger; three horses, and a dog. This is her bedroom:

She likes The Lord of the Rings, Law & Order: LA, and Jericho. She is quite a fan girl. Of course, I don't know anyone else like that. Haha.
She got out her horses and we played horses until her Golden Retriever puppy came barging in.
Rex is so cute! Of course, I love Westies more, but how can you not love that face?
Everything was going good, Mac and I talked for awhile about TV and animals. Then Rebecca showed up.
"What are you just sitting around for?" she demanded to know. Apparently Rebecca has to always be doing something and talking is not considered "something".
"Calm down a notch, Beckers" Mac told her. "What do you want to do?"

"I have an idea!" I volunteered.
But then they both looked at me like I was some kind of nut job and I kept quite.

I don't know what to think sometimes. Mac seems pretty cool unless she is with Beckers. Then she starts acting like she is so much better than I am. Which is how Bec acts, but Bec and I don't see eye-to-eye on anything anyway so that doesn't bother me. But I would LOVE to have someone to talk TV with. JJ isn't much of a TV fan. That leaves Kit and she gets too squee-y. I'm hoping Rebecca won't turn up often since she doesn't seem to be a fan of ranch life, but I still have to put up with them together at school.

Alright, enough negatives stuff. I'm starting to get a new obsession (I know, like I need another): Criminal Minds. Has anyone else watched that? It's so creepy. So far I've mostly watched seasons 3-5. Nellie loves the show--she is so morbid for an 8-year-old--so it's always on our TV. Kit is totally in love with Reid, or at least his hair. She's mad that he cut it in the newest season. Okay, I've blabbed on enough. Though you know I could go on forever...

Tea Party

I spent an interesting afternoon with my cousins yesterday. Before I start, though, let me make a quick introduction. My cousin Mackenzie "Mac" Scarlatti moved here from New York. She and Rebecca are best friends and so far she seems nice enough. I'll talk more about her in another post. She's 12 like Bec and myself.

Anyways, Rebecca is a huge fan of all thing "girly-girl". She loves tea parties and frilly dresses. So we (Bec, Mac, myself, and Kit) went to this tea party place where you get to dress up in silly dresses and be served lemonade and tiny sandwiches.

Rebecca was in charge and got to ring the little bell when any of us wanted anything. She poured us lemonade and instructed us on how to behave like proper ladies.
However, Kit and I discovered there was a box of cookies on the table and we became all "COOKIES!" and acted like, well, I don't know, brats, maybe?
Meanwhile Mac is just contently watching and eating a tiny (tiny) peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Later Mac informed me that the dress Rebecca was wearing wasn't from the tea party place, but actually her own. I haven't been to Bec's house yet, so I have no idea how many foofy dresses she owns, but apparently it is a lot.
Here is the mandatory group shot so you can see how ridiculous we all look. Okay, I will admit I did have a tiny (like the sandwiches) bit of fun getting dresses up and trying to behave properly. I just hope my cousins don't make this a regular thing. Mac told me she doesn't like tea parties either but she learned long ago to fake it to please Becca. I probably just ruined that for her if Bec reads my blog.

Anyway, it was nice to get out of the house and do something different. Soon I will go to Mac's house and see her horses and new puppy (a Golden Retriever!).

Christmas Drama

How was everyone's Christmas? Mine was about as crazy as Thanksgiving! I didn't get many action pictures. But here's one of all the goodies we made. There is chocolate chip cookies, red and green candy cookies, gingerbread cookies, and chocolate cake roll things.
On Christmas Eve, Mother, my sisters, and I went to the Wordworth household for dinner. Christmas Eve is when we do our big dinner and festivities. JJ's family was there, as was Jess', Molly's, and Samantha's. It was insane! But really fun. Us kids played hide-and-seek and then we hid upstairs while Santa brought presents. That waiting was the most fun. Our parents sent us upstairs way before Santa was to come so we took turns sneaking downstairs to see what the adults were doing. The reports went something like this:
"They're just drinking coffee." (Kit)
"They're eating cookies now." (Rebecca)
"Emily's mom and Jess' dad are making out." (Hannah, Rebecca's sister)
That was the end of sneaking downstairs since that put Jess off her rocker. She wouldn't speak to me the rest of the night :( I tried to tell her that I wasn't thrilled either but she just gave me the silent treatment. And when Jess does the silent treatment the temperature drops 30 degrees.
Eventually Santa did come and we all got to sneak downstairs and watch him put the presents under the tree.

Everything became crazy loud after that, as you can imagine with that many kids. Before presents there was dinner and pictures. Here's my favorites:
Elizabeth and Kit
Kit and ME
Gillian and Elizabeth
Samantha and Elizabeth
JJ and ME
Rebecca and ME
Elizabeth really likes getting her picture taken. I have some new people to introduce you to in future blog posts: my cousins Mac Scarlatti and Jess' little sister. Also some new pets my cousins received. How did everyone's holiday go? I could have done without the Jess Drama (thank you, Mother), but I'm learning to deal with it. Otherwise it was a great holiday! I got some new books and cowboy boots!

Christmas Preparations

Today we finally got a chance to put up our Christmas tree. But first we had to make ornaments for it.
Kit started with cutting out Christmas trees.
I rolled out clay for decorating. Do excuse my funky hair. Mother insisted on putting it in rollers.

JJ was over to help. She started the delicate process of putting tiny ornaments on the trees.
 We made snowmen as well.
We also did stars, bells, and gingerbread men.
Then it was finally onto getting the tree up and our decorations on.

Of course, the pictures we took of the finished tree didn't come out. I'll have to try again later. The babies made a paper chain that actually turned out nicely. Gillian made paper snowflakes. Our stocking are hung and tomorrow we are going to make cookies.
However, there was one downfall to the day. I've been debating whether to post this or not, but I thought I better since it could become a big part of my life. I found out on Thanksgiving that Mother and Jess' dad Casey are dating. He called this evening to take Mother out to dinner. I really like him, but Mother has never dated before and it's kind of weird. Especially since he is Jess' dad (Jess is still furious about the whole thing). I think I hear Mother returning from her date. Merry Christmas, everyone!

Scarves

Mother learned how to crochet a few weeks ago so she has been busy making scarves for some of us girls.

Rebecca, ME, JJ, and Gillian
Nellie is supposed to get a scarf, too, but Mother hasn't been making much progress. I keep telling her she only has a few (2!) weeks left. She just yells at me :)
